Well, it doesn't flicker on my screen but yes, you still get a large  
box corresponding to the frame from which the counter has been selected.

I haven't tried running on Java5 but that is certainly the behavior  
on a stock 10.4 machine. I've gotten so used to it I had to double- 
check if it was still there. =)
