how to work triggers well. Brent should be able to help more, but I think
you need a dynamic marker for ZAL based on the description. Also Im not sure
if it matters but I think the syntax should be "greater than or equal to" (
>= ) not equal to or greater than ( = > ). That is what I have used and it
works.
Otherwise, send me or tell me the name the mod and I can take a look Monday
(holiday weekend :) ) , or, take a look at Twilight Struggle - lots of
passive, active and dynamic triggers in there interacting with GKC's and
markers

Subject: [vassalengine] Triggers and properties
Hello all,
Working some more on modules and having issues with creating a
trigger that
is limited to a layer value compared to a global value.
I have a global value ZAL which is an integer of 4, 5 or 6. A Layer named
Random that has 6 levels named 1 through 6 that is set randomly by CTRL Z.
Set a trigger to look for CTRL Z and then compares the Random layer to the
ZAL and if equal to or higher will then do ALT Z. Tried all trigger
formulas listed below
Random_Level => ZAL_Name
Random_Level => ZAL_Level
Random_Name => ZAL_Name
Random_Name => ZAL_Level
It triggers on all instances regardless of the actuall value of Random
before or after the trigger. Am I doing something wrong here?
Do I need to create a marker for the piece named ZAL? IF so do I leave the
value blank so that the global property function sets it automaticly?
Thanks for all the help.
Also...does anyone know of a module that uses triggers so I can at least see
some that work?
Charles
