Hi Tim, No, there isn't a way to do that yet.
It is an oft requested feature that there be a way to do so. Your suggested implementation is not a bad idea. Other suggestions have revolved around defining a label that is associated with the Deck showing a formatted text including the remaining count Sourceforge Request for Enhancement '[1200449 ] Count the card total in hand or deck' covers this. I might have a quick look at the Global property part - it should be a quick addition.
