[vassalengine] Basic Board Game Tutorial

I have followed this through to the letter, I have done this 4 times 
and I still dont get it.
When I get down to the last Paragraph saying "Congratulations Youve 
defined you first VASSAL Map. Now select File-->New Game in the 
Controls window."
The whole window disapears, I cant find any save file anywhere! I dont 
get a Tactical display window, it just dissapears.
Please help!
