Hi,

I had the same problem. I think all the new stuff is part of VASSAL 2.9
onwards and the Wiki refers to <2.8. I downloaded the 2.8 branch and all
worked fine and all those errors went away. As I'm working with VASL I
need 2.8 anyway so it's not an issue for me.

I'm sure someone with more experience will step in a provide a solution
for the 2.9 trunk.
