i recall many fond games of car wars. the real trick would be to duplicate the turning key, as well as the non-grid oriented movement. the grid consisted of 1" = 15', with half-inches equaling 7.5' and quarter-inches equaling 3.25'. it is one of the most accurate/real-to- life grid movement systems i have ever seen. but SJG managed to make it relatively easy to move pieces with only simple calculations and the turning key.
