I'm relatively new to editing Vassal modules, having started only a
couple of weeks ago. The module I'm working on (Dawn Patrol) uses
counters on a square grid. As most of you probably know, the problem
with square grids is that diagonal movement isn't to scale with
horizontal and vertical movement.

I'm wondering if there is a way to edit it so that counters are not
tied to the grid, and move a counter-length on the diagonal instead of
fuly into the next square. Years ago, I used to play a game called Car
Wars that used this type of movement with cars. Of course, once the
counter moves once diagonally, it rarely is entirely in one space
during the rest of the game, but that's fine with me.

None of the modules I have use this type of map, but I'm hoping
someone may know of one that I could look at as an example. Or just
tell me if this is impossible and save me the search.
