I tried all of the zoom levels, no dice. I'm starting to think that this is either JVM implementation bug or some weird interaction between the JVM and your video driver or OS. As soon as I have my zooming demo integrated into my development version of VASSAL, I'll let you know so you can see if the problem persists. (If it does, we can then turn on Java2D debuging for both of us and see if there's any difference.) -- J.
