Ben, would you try something for me and report back the results? I'd like to know if you see the same problem with my scaling demo as you do with VASSAL. The post to the devel list where I describe how to get and run the scaling demo is here: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_name=20070902184347.85482100B9%40charybdis.ellipsis.cx Extract one of the maps which is garbled for you from its module, and try that image with the scaling demo. If it fails there, too, then we'll know that the problem isn't with VASSAL; otherwise, if it works in the demo then we know how to solve the problem (even though we still won't know what the cause is). -- J.
