Hi Shawn, I had heard of CALs (number of licences ?), in relation to SQL Server. I didn't realise that it applies to Windows Server as well. I will check that out, during the week.
I have to get the bugs(wrinkles) out of what they have got so far. Plus new features(requests) are popping up as we go along. Plus I have to develop and blend in a Tasks/Alerts/etc system (and there are a lot of Tasks associated with each Job). Trust me, getting all that done in acceptable time, will be enough of a miracle, without me trying something new in the DB area. I don't doubt that what you say is correct, but it would be a bit like 'Fiddling while Rome burns'. Even if it was 10 times better, I would be foolish to be diverting my time and abilities(cough!). Perhaps you could send that son of yours over for a wee stay at my place.
