Good morning Michael,
I am not upset that the French manual (PDF) is available and as stated
glad to see it.
What I was after was the way to *NOT include it in the build. But all I
got was
reasons why it was there.
I usually compile the build at least once a day and sometime two or
three times
and any resource that I don't need just makes the time for completion
that much longer.
I found it myself and all is good.

It's simple actually after I found the little bugger.
Config.kmk has the following line:
# Enable any translations in OSE, even partial ones.
VBOX_WITH_DOCS_TRANSLATIONS=1
And this from the doc/manual/Makefile.kmk
ifdef VBOX_WITH_DOCS_TRANSLATIONS
VBOX_MANUAL_ADD_LANGUAGES = fr_FR
endif
Just interested to know why it seems to disturb you so much. We always
ship all UI languages that we support, so shipping all user manual
translations isn't much different to my mind, and it shouldn't be harder
to ignore the French manual than to ignore the French UI translation.
We have disabled this for our own release builds because the French
manual isn't complete enough yet - hoping that if we enabled it in other
builds people might see it and give the translator a bit of support to
hopefully get it to a stage where we can ship it by default too.
Regards,
Michael
