Btw, I just tried to compile VirtualBox 4.2 with gcc-4.8 and it works after I upgraded to a recent gcc build. I'm currently using gcc version 4.8.0 20130218 (experimental) [trunk revision 196115] (Debian 4.8-20130217-1) Older gcc-4.8 snapshots had a bug which made it stop compiling some VBox inline assembler functions.
