of course ;-)
boot your guest (Linux, I suppose), then mount the ISO in that guest
and run "vboxlinuxadditions-<platform>.run".

without having tried: 
there's an "VBoxGuestAdditions.iso" coming with VBox which includes the
installer "vboxlinuxadditions-x86.run" and a similar for amd64.

These seem to have options for not starting an xterm.
