I must not be understanding you properly because my original answer
still applies.  Sorry.

Perhaps I can simplify it.  I find VMWare's solution `bloated' and
poorly designed.  Vbox is nimble and simple.  A Unix process per VM.  

Simply because a software solution is complex (clearly!) does not make
it superior.
