Hello,

I'm trying to install Guest Additions for the Ubuntu 10.04 guest and Windows 7
host (VBox 3.2.8), but I'm not able to mount the VBoxGuestAdditions.iso file in
the guest VM.

I'm trying to follow the instructions from
http://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch04.html#id2658274 , but this part doesn't
make sense to me:

"Mount the VBoxGuestAdditions.iso file as your Linux guest's
virtual

CD-ROM drive, exactly the same way as described for a Windows guest
in the section called “Installation”."

I *did* mount the VBoxGuestAdditions.iso file in Virtual Media Manager and I
can

see there that it is attached to my guest VM. However, I don't see it mounted
as a CD/DVD drive in my guest VM. My understanding is that after I mount it in
the Virtual Media Manager, I should see the ISO file mounted in my guest VM,
but

that's not happening.

I'm guessing I could try mounting the ISO file manually myself, but that ISO
file exists only in my Host OS, not the Guest VM.

What should I do?

Thanks,
Otis
