Do not attempt to move VDI files until you have deleted snapshots first.
If you select the (only) snapshot and click 'Delete Snapshot', the snapshot's
differencing disk will be merged back into the
base VDI.
The snapshot differencing disk in Win2K/Snapshots will be deleted and the base
disk left in ~/vbox.
(Note: The files in ~/.VirtualBox/Machines/Win2K/Snapshots/ are differencing
disks, and contain changes made to the disks AFTER
a snapshot is taken.)
Deleting snapshots, merges changes stored in the snapshot' differencing disk
files.
Deleting the topmost snapshot merges the changes in that snapshot's
differencing disk back into the base VDI file.
Deleting other than the topmost snapshot merges two differencing disks into a
single differencing disk.
I'm not sure if it is possible or safe to have the base VDI file and the
snapshot' difference disks in the same folder.
