I think the question could send better wording (says the king of badly worded
questions). I also think it is on topic because it pertains to virtual box use.
My interpretation says he is asking for a minimalist client he can use on
end-user machines that will only access virtual machines.

It depends, in my opinion, on how stripped down he wants the thin client to be.

at the core, you want an RDP client start with a minimal user interface to
connect them to the right virtual machine either explicitly or implicitly. In
the beginning, you start with a fat linux distribution on the remote machine
and
make sure everything wakes up the right way. If space is truly a problem
because
you're trying to boot off flash disk or the net, move to one of the small/tiny
distributions and put together a real minimalist solution of X11, supporting
libraries, kernel, and RDP client. Wouldn't even bother with the window manager
because the RDP client would wake up full-screen. There may be some additional
glue logic for the person to log in and be directed to the right virtual
machine
but, that's fundamentally what I would do for a dedicated remote client.

It's important to be aware that it's frequently cheaper to cram a fat
distribution into a really large flash drive that is to pay for engineering
work
to make it small.
