This is indeed your choice and if you really need more virtual processors
then use the VBoxManage command line tool but in that case please don't
open tickets about slow or unresponsive guests. We limit the GUI settings
to sane values. Believe me, we already close enough tickets from power
users raising all settings to the maximum because they think the more
the resources for the guest better. And I don't see the point in having
more than 8 virtual CPUs on a 4 core box (actually 8 is already too much
on a 4 core host with two hyperthreads per core).

For 64-bit guests this setting is ignored and PAE is always enabled.
