I am attempting to install/run VirtualBox 4.1.2 on a fresh install of OpenIndiana 151a.
The installation is clean and completes with a successful message. I have done a couple reboots of the system, although that is not normally necessary. Hardware is a stock Sun Ultra 20m2 with 8 Gb ram. There are no other applications running that I have started. Error occurs when attempting to execute. Error as follows: ........................................... title bar - VirtualBox - Critical Error Failed to create the VirtualBox COM object. The application will now terminate. Callee RC: NS_ERROR_ABORT (0x80004004) ........................................... I took a look at the Solaris host area of the Virtualbox forums, with no luck there. A Yahoo search of the issue turns up with (2) possible solutions: 1) Just deleted "compreg.dat" and "xpti.dat" files from ~/.VirtualBox and restart GUI 2) make sure that VirtualBox.xml exist. It does. Neither of these have worked for me. TIA for any comments.
