this should not happen, I'm not aware of such a problem. We have reports
that the installation could fail but in this case the installation is
aborted and does not loop forever.

Keep in mind that the installer should normally ask for admin permissions
to install the kernel drivers, so could it be that you just missed the
dialogs which were waiting for a confirmation from you?
