I have had kernel panics on a Mac (OS Version: Darwin Kernel Version 10.8.0) similar to those you describe while running VirtualBox in the past, but have not seen one on the current VirtualBox version 4.1.10-r76795. VirtualBox was running when the panics occurred, but then it is virtually always running, and I could not tie the panics to any specific actions.
