Setting a VM to use dynamic disk would not result in its automatically increasing the size by any increment when the space becomes low. Rather, it would be up to me to monitor the condition and to increase the space using manual procedures. As a matter of fact I am finding that fixing this issue is not at all a simple point-and-click procedure. I have found the following instructions for doing so.
