Pablo.
Thanks for the info.
I have completed the expansion of the XP guest
and was moving on to the others,
when I ran into a strange issue.

I had used the VboxManage commands as in the instructions with no issue.
For some strange reason I can no longer run VboxManage commands
and get the following
C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox>VBoxManage.exe list hdds
Access is denied.

along with a popup which says
VboxManage is not a valid Win32 application

I then find that VboxManage is now 0 bytes
06/20/2012 11:50 AM 0 VBoxManage.exe

The only thing that happened after the successful VboxManage operations
I completed, is I mistakenly pasted into my cmd window and it must have done something
to this file. Its the only explanation I can come up with .
I believe I need to snag another copy now .
Is there an easy way to obtain just this file?

Am I missing something?

TIA,
Dennis

My question to the community is.
Does anyone have any personal experience with doing this operation safely?

Hi Dennis,

There's still a lot of cruft on the Internet on the /old/ way to
increase the size of the VDI.

It's now trivial to resize the VDI. You'll want to use `vboxmanage
modifyvdi with the --resize option. Details:

   https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch08.html#vboxmanage-modifyvdi

I've resized my VDI's successfully. No issue.

Cheers,
