hi,

Since version 4.1.8 and/or kernel 3, it is no more possible to mount a
linked host file in guest directories.

Some development :

host and guest with linux kernel 3.3.6.

Before release 4.1.8 it was possible to mount host linked directory
e.g. : /source/development linking to some directory as any name in
guest system as a "hard" directory e.g. : /home/user/development.

Hi Angelo,

It occurred to me that I missed your point about creating a hard link.
In my case, I'm always using soft links.

Do you absolutely need hard links?

Cheers,
I am using soft links at host level but at the guest level these soft links point to guest file(s). Previously, these soft links point to host files at guest level and there were seen as hard linked at guest level which is normal.
