The issue described in that ticket should now be fixed in trunk.

This is probably because we currently use a single OpenGL context for 
all guest applications, which occasionally causes confusion.  Again, 
fixed or being fixed in trunk.

I'm afraid that supporting mixed bit-ness systems is not something on 
our current to-do list.
