Thanks for your help. No. I didn't copy or clone. This happened all of a sudden and for no apparent reason. I booted my host a couple of mornings ago, did some light work, then fired up VBox and was confronted with this error. > In any event, you shouldn't need that ISO in the optical drive in > order to boot the guest ... Try ejecting it from the existing > machine, removing it from the media library if necessary. I can't access the VM at all, not even to edit its configuration. My only allowed choice is 'New'. 'Settings', 'Start', and 'Discard' are greyed out. The associated menu choices that I usually use to edit a VM configuration (to change memory, mount/unmount ISOs, etc.) are greyed out. If I use 'File' > 'Virtual Media Manager' > 'Optical disks' tab, select each ISO shown, and delete them, then shut down VBox, then relaunch VBox and use 'File' > 'Virtual Media Manager' > 'Optical disks' tab again, the ISOs are still there... They can't be deleted. > If that > doesn't work, try closing & re-opening VirtualBox, ensure there isn't > already a machine running. Reboot if necessary and try again.
