Funny you should ask. I just installed Packetfence (which uses many vlans)
on a Debian box, which is running inside Virtualbox hosted on another
Debian box. Yes, I love Debian!. At any rate, I had no problems. I did
have multiple nics though. I left eth0 (in physical machine alone). I
assigned eth0 (of virtual machine) to be bridged to eth1 of physical
machine.
I fired up the VM, setup all my vlans using vconfig eth0 (vlan#) and off I
went. No problems.
Maybe it's different if using one nic, but I doubt it.
