Hi Kent
I am running VBOX with windows 7 inside of it. My main op system is Linux
Mint. Problem is that VBox or windows will not recognize any USB port. Do you
know what I can do to correct it.
I am a 72 year old computer novice and know nothing about Linux or VBox. I was
having trouble with several virus so a friend installed Linux Mint. He said
that he has done some research on my usb problem but cannot find a solution. I
did put my problem but have not had a solution. One solution was to put a
filter in Vbox. Might be an idea but I have no idea where to put it or how to
build one. I can't even get to the system level in Linux.
I sure would appreciate it if you could help me. Also, how do I change my
password which is required when I first turn on my PC.
Thanks for your help.
Jim

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately changing the adapter had no effect.
However, another user commented in the bug ticket
(https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/11610#comment:12) with a possible
work-around: disabling VT-x/AMD-V under Settings->System->Acceleration.
I can confirm that disabling VT-x/AMD-V works around the problem on my Linux
host (Linux 3.9.2, VirtualBox 4.2.12) with 32-bit vms, however it obviously
doesn't work for 64-bit vms. Hopefully, this extra information will help
narrow down the root cause or suggest a better fix.
Thanks again!
Best,
Kent
