Dear All I have a Kubunto 14.04 installation on a 32bit laptop with 3GB RAM.
I have installed Windows 7 as a guest several times in the past, though I think that was using Linux Mint as the host. I have installed VirtualBox 4.3.14 r 95030. I made a new virtual machine with 1024 MB RAM, a VDI of a fixed size of 50GB HDD. The process asked me to identify the installation source which was the optical rive containing the Windows 7 installation DVD. Next the windows loading files progress bar appeared. This took about 2 minutes to reach the end of the bar. After this the progress bar remained on screen for a further five minutes. After this the screen went black for 25 minutes. Next the installation options appeared. I chose English for the install language and time and currency and keyboard. Next I got to the Install Now button. I clicked this and saw the message Setup is starting. It was at this stage i got the load driver error message, as follows: "A required CD/DVD device driver is missing. If you have a diver floppy disk, CCD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now. Note: If the windows installation media is in the cd/dvd drive, you can safely remove it for this step." I clicked OK and saw another message as follows: "Select the driver to be installed. [/] Hide drivers that are not compatible with hardware on this computer" This message window had three buttons, Browse, Rescan and next. The latter was greyed out. I had to abandon the installation as I did not know what to do Any help appreciated Stephen ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Infragistics Professional Build stunning WinForms apps today!
