Hi, I'm trying to install VBox on my Fedora 27 x86_64 (rawhide) system.
I have a VM that fairly closely replicates my native system. The native system's kernel has a problem and I'm trying to resolve it by testing the updates in the VM to make sure I haven't goofed something. I have the latest snapshot installed but it won't configure. Here's what I get: 1 2 VirtualBox 5.1.23 r116680 installer, built 2017-07-04T10:40:42Z. 3 4 Testing system setup... 5 Installing VirtualBox to /opt/VirtualBox 6 7 vboxdrv.sh: Stopping VirtualBox services. 8 vboxdrv.sh: Building VirtualBox kernel modules. 9 make KBUILD_VERBOSE=1 SUBDIRS=/tmp/vbox.0 SRCROOT=/tmp/vbox.0 CONFIG_MODULE_SIG= -C /lib/modules/4.13.0-0.rc0.git5.1.fc27.x86_64/build -j 9 8 modules 10 make[1]: warning: -jN forced in submake: disabling jobserver mode. 11 Makefile:929: "Cannot use CONFIG_STACK_VALIDATION, please install libelf-dev, libelf-devel or elfutils-libelf-devel" 12 test -e include/generated/autoconf.h -a -e include/config/auto.conf || ( \ 13 echo >&2; \ 14 echo >&2 " ERROR: Kernel configuration is invalid."; \ 15 echo >&2 " include/generated/autoconf.h or include/config/auto.conf are missing.";\ 16 echo >&2 " Run 'make oldconfig && make prepare' on kernel src to fix it."; \ 17 echo >&2 ; \ Any/all hints/tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
