In general, no, VirtualBox can't do that for you, although there might be
exception for some operating systems.

You have to look for a OS-dependent utility that is able to produce a
Live-CD/DVD (.iso) image from a running OS.

As said, you can export and import a harddisk image within the VB environment,
but such an image is not the same as a Live-CD/DVD or install CD/DVD

You might be able to use VboxManage to replicate a .vdi to a raw partition onto
a physical hard disk and boot that from hardware, as long as the hardware is
similar to the emulated VBox hardware. Such an image is not an .iso either.
