Frank,

Just a heads up. The changes in other packages (I don't know which yet)
required to support 5.5 also impact Virtualbox. After the guest failed to
start under 5.5, I downgraded the kernel to 5.4 (where the guests had been
working fine). The same problem remains. The guests will not start in any
functional way. Virtualbox reports that the guests are started fine, but
instead of booting in 30 sec or so, after 15 minutes a basic Archlinux guest
is not yet fully booted. The drive indicator is pegged on the host -- though
there doesn't appear to be any I/O taking place.

Once the guest does finally present a console login: prompt, attempting to
log in, never makes it to actually asking for the password, instead after a
minute or two of just spinning, the "login timeout" error is received.

This occurs both when the guests are started headless, or when run from the
VirtualBox GUI.

  This now occurs with builds:

testcase 5.2.35 (135458)
5.2.36
testcase 5.2.37 (135942)

It occurs on the 5.4 kernel and on the 4.19 LTS kernel on Archlinux. So
apparently there are changes to another package (python?) I'm still trying to
sort this out.

Have you heard of any other issue surrounding package updates impacting
virtualbox?
