A general question as I have some more exploring to do on this problem. I
run VirtualBox on a Windows10 host almost exclusively for the purpose of
running Linux to access other Linux machines by network.
I don't have great demands on the guest system but thought is was about
time to upgrade from kernel 4.19 to 5.10 which is the one currently used
by my Devuan distribution. Testing the upgrade on a clone I run into
problems with compiling guest addition modules, apparently a common
occurrence; the error messages report missing include files which are
actually present.
I have just upgraded the VirtualBox from 6.1.22 to 6.1.28 -- is it
possible that this will work better with the 5.10 kernel? I want to leave
my existing guest machine untouched until I have sorted out the problem.
