Hi Michael,

thanks, but unfortunately that doesn't help, either. Any other ideas?

Problem is that in the drop-down box the CD-ROM device isn't listed, at all,
no matter if a CD is mounted on the host or not. The drop down box is just
empty, no entry.

Maybe I should make clear that I currently only have an empty Vbox, not
really a "guest system", because due to the CD-ROM problem I am unable to
install one... ;-)

I thought of creating ISO images of everything I want to use in the guest
system. However, as there is no shared folder and no clipboard supported
for exchanging data with the host, I would be unable to save my data
appropriately, then, because obviously DVD writers won't work, too.

Thanks again for any ideas.

Alex
