So I rebooted the host XP-Pro system fully and then started the
VirtualBox application. Now I have an error message right where the
settings are normally located:

<quote>

Could not load the settings file 'C:\Documents and
Settings\Bosse.AGIUSA\.VirtualBox\Machines\Ubuntu6\Ubuntu6.xml'
(VERR_OPEN_FAILED).
FATAL ERROR: Datatype error: Type:InvalidDatatypeValueException,
Message:Value '' does not match regular expression facet '.+'.
Location: 'C:\Documents and
Settings\Bosse.AGIUSA\.VirtualBox\Machines\Ubuntu6\Ubuntu6.xml', line
5, column 122.

Result Code:
E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component:
Machine
Interface:
IMachine {fd443ec1-0009-4f5b-9282-d72760a66916}

</quote>

And when I open the file it refers to I see this on line 5 (wrapped by
newsreader):
  <Machine OSType="linux26" lastStateChange="2007-01-22T21:12:43Z"
name="" uuid="{afd8a253-e09c-4f2a-9632-67efe4018cf5}">

Column 122 is right after the > of the line...

I have absolutely no idea at all how to fix this. It is a real pain
since I was feeling I had a chance of getting Ubuntu to work here and
now it looks hosed. :-(
