Yes, I have rw permission on the share.

The problem(s) with that is I have to remember to unmount it from the
host and then unplug/replug to get it recognized by the host after
closing down the guest. In the case of a Windows guest then I have to
have a Windows compatible file system on the USB drive, which is
something I may not want.
