Hy,

you should mount the image first in the Guest OS. ('mount /media/cdrom0').

I copied the installer to '/tmp' and ran it from there, but I'm not sure
if it is necessary. Probably you can just run it from the CD.

Afterwards unmount the cdrom ('umount /media/cdrom0') reboot and unmount
it from VirtualBox, too.

But be aware that - as it was told before on the list here - there seem
to be sometimes some problems with Ubuntu. (fast repeated keystrokes
i.e. I had experienced myself.)
