You make valid points, Jim, but I still think that this is more of a personal preference than practical advantage. I tend to contribute more than search for help in forums, I have been subscribed to the vbox-users mailing for a while, but as you noticed I hardly contribute. The reason why I subscribed was because I was evaluating VirtualBox and wanted to get a sense of user experience. The sad thing is that forums/groups/mailing lists usually attract problems.
