Hi, here is a heads up. This information is for Ubuntu linux 6.10 running 
on i386 processors. When installing Ubuntu, the progress bar becomes distorded 
once the installation percentae reaches about 50%. At this point you are no 
longer about to read what percentage the installation has completed. This minor 
graphical issue affects all downloads mae through the symantic package 
manager/add/remove applications/update manager. To remedy this minor graphical 
error/annoyance, you have to edit the color depth setting in the xorg conf 
file. To do so follow these instructions. These instructions are for Mircrsoft 
Virtual PC 2004 but they work in virtualbox just the same. Here is the link
