Partially true. I do not have a "license" for later windows--I never upgraded 
because my older hardware is not supported in windows later than win98. 
However, the device problems would be common to all windows. Linux will 
happly play music to /dev/dsp not caring to what this is channelled. Windows 
is not so tolerant. The guest addtions would give me better video. The mouse 
works in win98 sometimes and temporarily at that but this is the smallest 
addition and not really needed.

Easer networking and samba setups would go for all Windows versions as well.

Best would be to get off the windows entirely, of course. Besides virtual 
servers and test-flying distros (why not use the live CD?), many of us want 
to use virtual machines to run the few decent windows things needed under 
linux and WINE does not always proveide the answer.
