You want bridged acces to the real network interfaces from a guest OS , right ?
go to virtual machine settings / Network
enable 3 network adapters
attach each to "Host Interface"
under host interface create 3 intefaces ("vbox netinf 1", "vbox netinf 2",
"vbox netinf 3" )
and assing one to each guest interface

Then in the host OS bridge each vbox interface with the desired real interface.

Regards,
David

Subject: [vbox-users] windows host networking

hello all,
I am looking at vbox with interest as it looks better laid out
than vmware which i use at the moment.

unfortunately the bit i really need is networking and this seems
very flaky at the moment. maybe the linux version is better?

I need to run a windows xp host with any of linux solaris.
I have an infernal broadcom, ext 3com and wireless nics.

as far as i can understand from the manual:
        a. they could all be NAT - DHCP nor static get picked up
        b. only ONE of them can be bridged - this works but i end up
        with only one nic
        c. another option is connection sharing but i don't need 3 more
        dhcp servers!

do have to do anything special to get nat to work?

BTW. a linux guest uses the bridge, but solaris won't - same ip
etc. vmware solaris uses the same nic ips etc ok.

i would like to change to vbox as it does seem faster for what i
need to do, vmware manages to do the above easily.

it may be just me - i am more unix than windoze so may be
missing something, or perhaps more people use the linux version!
i haven't been able to try linux version yet.

any pointers to get 3 nics under windows accessible gratefully
        received.

BTW - i raised this on the forum, but no-one seems to reply
        there...
