Thanks so much for your help.  I had read and tried your solution before,
but I still could not get it to work.  So instead of using the vbox command
line tool for creating vbox0 (which I assume is just a tap interface), I
created it by hand.  Still didn't work, then I applied your fix, and wala!
it worked.
