Erm, yes, I absolutely want real free software - would I be content with "free of cost", I'd use VmWare Server. If there would be no need for GPL Software, it would have been pointless to even create a GPL version, wouldn't it? Apart of that, even for my hobby machines, I use FAI to install them automatically. As far as I understood (last time I read it) the PUEL, it disallows automated installed systems be used with the license.
