Hi,

I wrote in about this about a week ago and I was pointed to:

<http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Migrate_Windows>

which said to do 3 things:

1 - Change the HAL setting for the machine from ACPI (VBox default) to IO APIC
2 - Run mergeIDE.bat to enable different HD controllers to be used
(by relaxing IDE restrictions in the registry)
3 - Disable the agp440 service in the Recovery Console.

Which I did. Apparently then, according to the wiki:

"After the above steps, your Windows installation should work fine in
VirtualBox."

Well...it's not. It's still stopping on the initial Windows load
screen, only this time I'm occasionally getting the Floating Guru
dialog. Am I (still) missing something here?

Regards,

GAM
