Sorry about the earlier message, I'm guessing you can't embed links ;-)
I have been working on a tutorial* detailing how to run an existing
installation Windows XP with VirtualBox. The tutorial, however, has
hit a snag. An OEM-Installed version of Windows XP does not
automatically activate because it detects a different BIOS than the
one provided by the manufacturer. This problem could be solved if
VirtualBox had an option to customize the virtual BIOS's information.
As an aside, activation problems can be more easilsy resolved for
people with Retail Windows environments.

I am not the only person who asks for this feature - in fact some
unsuccessfully attempt* ways to emulate it, others look* for it, and
the rest have problems with without it. (VMware seems to already have*
this feature.) I ask that developers please add this feature to
VirtualBox. After this, I can officially "publish" the tutorial, which
may help gain Linux users as well as VirtualBox users. Thank you.
