I second that request!! It's a badly needed feature. Also, I wonder what happens if I create a , say, Vista VM running under Virtualbox on a AMD cpu, and then move that VM image to run it under an Intel CPU? If Virtualbox does not virtualize the original CPU where the VM was installed, the OS (Vista) will detect a CPU change (as if you moved a hard disk from one machine to another) and thus ask for re-activation, that's assuming the CPU architecture change won't cause other problems with drivers, lockups and the like. Any idea on the question above? How that would be solved?. Anyone tried that scenario? (installing a VM with a Windows OS on an Intel CPU then moving the VM to an AMD one, and vice-versa). I think it should be possible for Virtualbox to select with CPU to virtualize (AMD or Intel), so if the OS checks for the CPU, it always gets a consistent CPU make-model, even if the VM image is moved and run on different CPUs..
