linux 2.6.25.11-0.1-pae #1 SMP (openSUSE 11.0 last update was Friday)
all prerecs were met.
I installed the SUN version of Virtual Box (SUSE 10.3 RPM on SUSE 11.0.last
week. Everything worked fine except shared folders. Today when I tried to
start it I got the following error:
Failed to create VirtualBox COM object
Callee RC: 0x80040154
tried manually restarting and got the following:
linux:~ # sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
Stopping VirtualBox kernel module done
Removing old VirtualBox kernel module done
Recompiling VirtualBox kernel module done
Starting VirtualBox kernel module done
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/lib> which VirtualBox
/usr/bin/VirtualBox
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/lib> /usr/bin/VirtualBox
Cannot create a lock file for '/tmp/.vbox-finemanruss-ipc/ipcd'.
Check permissions.

There is no vbox-finemanruss-ipc/ipcd in /tmp
Searching the forum and googling had some messages with the failure code but
they were not for the COM Object.
tried starting the system with nmi_watchdog=0 on the option line of grub,
still failed. this was suggested on page 148 of the manual.
Ant Ideas what I should look at next would be appreciated or do I need to
reinstall everything?
