I've not used my Vbox install much lately, but needed to fire it up to
test something in MS Office. The install is on an Ubuntu Hardy (8.04)
2.4Ghz/1GB P4 machine and the guest is a standard Win2KPro install w/the
standard 2.0.6 guest additions. The memory is set for around 512MB w/8Mb
video and ACPI turned on. Note: I've tried with less memory (both) and
it doesn't seem to make much difference.

Unfortunately this Vbox takes the CPU to 80-95% CPU usage (even when
idle), making the VM practically unusable. Fans fire on for all time
that the VM is active, and the only time they turn off is when I 'Pause'
the VM.

I don't recall this happening as much in the 1.6 versions of VirtualBox
- the only time that seemed to max out the CPU was when I was doing
something CPU intensive.

Any ideas on what I can do to resolve the issue?
