Yes, I know it's in the user manual. I also know to check it whenever I
make a change. My point being is that some folks, particularly those new
to Vbox may not know this when upgrading. A simple note on the site
download page, or as a minimum in the release notes/changelog page would
be most helpful. Further, doing so (putting a note on the website) is
likely to help reduce trouble reports on your side...

User: my guest is not doing xyz with 2.1.x
Vbox: which guest additions do you have installed?
User: don't know, oh wait, let me check. I see that I have 1.6.x is that OK?
Vbox: No, you need to install Guest Additions 2.1.x
User: well I've been upgrading since 1.6.x and nobody told me that I
also had to upgrade the Guest Additions...
