Qemu does not need a kernel extention, true. But if you want
acceleration qemu also has a kernel module. In other words, don't
compare a "naked" qemu with VirtualBox ;-)

ah sorry, when i said "on some platforms, we have the choice to use some kernel extensions or not", maybe i confused VirtualBox and Qemu :-)

so, on any platform, VirtualBox need kernel extentions to work ? no alternative ?
(acceleration is not a need, for me)
